AKD 2001 2 metre TRANSCEIVER.
Modification for 12.5kHz CHANNEL SPACING
Early production of the AKD 2001 has 25kHz channel spacing and consequently does not match up to current 12.5kHz channel spacing standards now used on 2 meters; especially newer repeater allocations.
Two levels of modifications are now available.
Level 1 allows selection of all 12.5kHz channels, both transmit and receive. In most cases this conversion will be adequate, but there is a risk of adjacent channel breakthrough as the receiver still has 25kHz standard IF filtering.
Level 2 changes the IF filters to 12.5kHz standard.
These modifications require moderate electronic and mechanical skill.
