The TEDX modifications were developed by G8UJS and MRC Ltd., who are acknowledged as the copyright owners.

The TEDX assembly selected for modification MUST have the Liquid Crystal Display; it should also have the CTCSS components fitted if required.

NOTE: there are some non-standard versions of MX290's which may require alternative software. If in doubt, please ask.

The modification to the TEDX board is extremely simple - the processor and EPROM are unplugged, IC108 (the latch enable chip) and one resistor are removed and although these latter two components are soldered onto the board, they can most easily be removed by carefully cutting their pins away. FULL DETAILS OF THESE MODIFICATIONS ARE SUPPLIED WITH THE CONVERSION ASSEMBLY.

The push button switches used on the TEDX may have seen a fair amount of service and can fail. Suitable replacement switches are available at GBP 1.90 for a set of 6.
